Andrew Jordan kicked his Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship challenge back into life with a superb double-podium finish for BMW Pirtek Racing at Oulton Park.

The 2013 BTCC champion finished in a season’s-best second place in the final race of the day as part of an incredible 1-2-3 finish for WSR-run BMW 125i M Sports, adding to third and fourth spots in the earlier two encounters.

Those results added up to a 45-point haul for the 29-year-old from Lichfield, Staffordshire, that was beaten by only one other driver and helped him to climb four spots to 11th place in the championship table.

Andrew’s results, which came after consistent race pace throughout the day and a number of strong overtaking moves, also helped BMW re-take the lead of the Manufacturers’ points table and brought BMW Pirtek Racing up to eighth in the Teams’ standings.

Andrew Jordan said: “I’m so pleased with how this weekend has gone. To finish in the top four in all three races is so difficult in the BTCC and to be on the podium twice is a great feeling. If I’m honest, I feel like this has been coming for a while and it’s a bit of a relief that I now have a set of results that really represent how hard everyone’s worked and the kind of pace we have in the car in race trim. This sets us up nicely for Croft.”

Dick Bennetts, Team Principal, said: “This has been a very good weekend for BMW Pirtek Racing. AJ’s driven beautifully and all the mechanics and engineers and the staff from our technical partners have worked flat-out to achieve this, so they all deserve this. It’s been a real team effort today as we’ve been able to take some little set-up elements we’ve found on the other cars and use them on AJ’s BMW and vice versa and the result is a 1-2-3 finish in the last race.”
