Test three in Bahrain – Day one

After the two pre-season tests in Barcelona, the first in-season testing takes place right after round three of the FIA Formula One World Championship 2017 on the Bahrain International Circuit. For the Sauber F1 Team everything on the hot track in the desert went according to the plan on day one. Marcus Ericsson was at the wheel of the Sauber C36-Ferrari mainly doing set-up work. Later on, the focus was on tyre and brake work. The Swede was able to gather a lot of additional data with the Sauber C36-Ferrari while completing 105 laps overall.

Programme: Set-up work, tyre work, aero tests

Marcus Ericsson:
“It was a very good test day. We completed our program and I did the most laps of everyone. We were able to run through a lot of different set-ups and we worked quite hard on the tyres to get them to work as we want in the right window. So I think we made some really good progress there, which is very promising for the next couple of races. Also on the set-up side we have been scanning through some different settings, which we haven’t had the chance to do so far this season. On that side too we found interesting data for improving the performance.”

What comes next:
Tomorrow, for the second and final test day of the first in-season test 2017, Pascal Wehrlein will be behind the wheel of the Sauber C36-Ferrari on the Bahrain International Circuit.
