F4 Final Logo v3Dimitris Papanastasiou will race with Hillspeed in the BRDC F4 Winter Championship after completing a late deal to partner Jake Cook at the race winning squad.

The 30 year-old London-based driver is an ex-Formula Palmer Audi competitor, finishing ninth overall in the 2008 Autumn Trophy while also competing in nine further races in 2009. Although it’s been a while since he last raced, Papanastasiou is optimistic of strong results this weekend.

“I’m very excited to be racing in the BRDC F4 Winter Championship with Hillspeed. They are a front running team with a rich history and many championship successes, and I am really looking forward to working with them,” Papanastasiou commented.

“With Jonathan Palmer involved I know it’s a high level series as I found out with Formula Palmer Audi, and the car is fantastic to drive. It has the latest technology and handles very well. The grid is sure to be very strong with really close racing and I can’t wait to get involved. I’d be delighted if I’m running inside the top five but if I can be running in the top half of the field I’ll be happy.”

Hillspeed Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw is delighted to confirm his team’s driver line-up for the first round, and is looking to field an extra car at the second round at Brands Hatch.

“Dimitris liked what we could provide as a team, and he has experience with the F4 car having completed some decent testing” Ollerenshaw commented. “With Jake’s speed and Dimitris hopefully carrying over his consistency from his FPA campaigns, we are looking forward to a strong Winter campaign. We are still exploring options to hopefully run a third car at the Brands Hatch round, and we’d welcome further enquiries from interested drivers.”
