The 16-year-old from Southwater, West Sussex, is the son of ex-F1 racer and MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer, and brother to GP2 front-runner Jolyon.
Will recently finished third in the Ginetta Junior Championship with HHC, securing a breakthrough win at Rockingham in September, as well as nine additional podium finishes throughout the season.
HHC enjoyed a successful season in the BRDC F4 Championship, securing three wins with Charlie Robertson, who finished third in the final championship standings.
Palmer has competed in Ginetta Juniors for two full seasons, as well as selected rounds in 2011. He also made a one-off appearance in the Radical SR1 Cup at Snetterton last weekend (26/27 October), impressively claiming two second place finishes in his first experience in the car.
Will tested the MSV F4-013 F4 car last week at Snetterton, and is optimistic of fighting inside the top 10 of the Winter Championship.
“I’ve been following BRDC F4 very closely this season and it is clearly an excellent championship” Palmer exclaimed. “It is very competitive and the cars are great fun to drive, with a huge amount more grip and power than the Ginetta I have been driving this year!
“HHC Motorsport were the obvious choice for me having been with them for two years in Ginetta Juniors, finishing third overall this year, especially after seeing how competitive they have been in F4. For the Winter Series I hope I can be in the top half of the field and score consistent results across the eight races.”
HHC Team Principal Charlie Kemp is thrilled to continue the team’s association with Palmer. “HHC Motorsport is delighted to continue our relationship with Will. He has progressed a lot as a driver in the past two years with us in Ginetta Juniors and we are pleased he has chosen HHC Motorsport for his first single seater foray in the BRDC F4 Winter Championship.”
