F4 Final Logo v3James Fletcher is the 23rd driver to confirm his place on the BRDC F4 grid after signing with Team KBS in time for this weekend’s rounds at Brands Hatch.

Fletcher, 19, from Surrey, was the 2009 Super 1 British Rotax Max Junior Karting Champion before moving to cars in 2011. He finished runner-up in the Formula Jedi Championship that year, and also won three of six races in the Formula Renault Winter Series. Last season he raced in the Formula Renault BARC Championship, finishing seventh with three podiums and 11 top 10 finishes. He is also contesting the USF2000 National Championship in the USA this season.

He will partner American Falco Wauer in the team operated by ex British F3 and GT champion Kelvin Burt, who has purchased an additional MSV F4-013 car.

“I’m really pleased to be racing in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship” Fletcher commented. “I’ve only had one day in the car and that was wet, but with my experience in single seaters both in the UK and stateside I am confident I can get up to speed quickly this weekend, and I can’t wait to race in front of thousands of people at Brands Hatch supporting the DTM.”

Burt added: “It’s great news to be able to add James to our driver line-up alongside Falco. We were very pleased with the pace of our first car at Silverstone, and I’ve been very impressed with the BRDC F4 Championship so far; nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the racing at Silverstone was very good with plenty of overtaking. We’ve got a strong driver pairing now and we’re looking forward to seeing how we get on at Brands Hatch this weekend.”
