Triple teams Champions confirm three-car entry for 2013
London, England 19 December 2012 – Leading Porsche specialists, Trackspeed have confirmed they will run three Porsche 997 GT3 Rs in the 2013 Avon Tyres British GT Championship, after a successful 2012 saw the Surrey-based team take their third consecutive British GT GT3 Teams Championship title despite heavy competition.
Trackspeed will be upgrading all three Porsche 997 GT3 Rs before the arrival of the all-new Porsche 991 GT3 R in 2015, and are inviting potential customers to try the 2013 specification Porsche over the coming months.
Already signed up for 2013 is Demon Tweeks boss, Jon Minshaw (Wrexham) who finished the season just outside of the top ten, in eleventh place with Tim Harvey as his driving partner. Joining Minshaw in the first Trackspeed car confirmed for 2013 is British driver, Phil Keen.
Keen (Henley-on-Thames), 29, is no stranger to British GT or Trackspeed, having competed with the team on numerous occasions alongside team boss, David Ashburn. The 2010 Drivers Champion, Ashburn has announced his retirement, despite missing out on the 2012 title by just three and a half points.

“With different bodywork and much better aero, the 997 will be a wider, meaner machine next year and this should put us right bang on top of the pile of new GT3 cars currently running. Jon had a solid first year in British GT and was unlucky not to take a win at Snetterton; Phil is an impressive young British driver and we are delighted to have himwith us in a full-season drive. The third car is currently available so we’re also interested to hear from people about that. We’re thrilled to be racing in British GT again as it’s such a completive championship, mainly thanks to the hard work of Benjamin (Franassovici – the championship manager).”

“Trackspeed are a great team and they represent the best opportunity for me to challenge for the title next year.I’ve enjoyed racing the Porsche in 2012 and I’m really looking forward to the new season. Phil is a strong talent and together I hope we’ll be up at the sharp end of the grid.”

“This is a great opportunity for me to join Trackspeed for a full year and to drive the awesome new 2013 Porsche 997 GT3 R car. “I’ve done a lot of mileage on the circuits featured in British GT, bar Zandvoort, so hopefully I should be on the pace straight away. British GT is increasing in status around the world and 2013 is going to bevery competitive so I feel it’s a great place to further my GT career.”
