Korean Grand Prix Qualifying – Ferrari

Korean GP – Alonso fourth, Massa fifth in final free practice
Yeongam, 15 October – This morning, the Yeongam circuit staged the final hour of free practice for the Korean Grand Prix, the first session to be run entirely in the dry. Quickest was the McLaren duo of Jenson Button (1.36.910) and Lewis Hamilton (1.37.199) ahead of Mark Webber (1.37.723) in the Red Bull. In the first of the 150º Italias, Fernando Alonso was fourth in a time of 1.38.029, just ahead of Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa who did a 1.38.434. The dry conditions made for a very busy session as the drivers evaluated both the Soft and Supersoft Pirelli tyres, with an eye on qualifying and the race.

Korean GP – Qualifying matches expectations
Yeongam, 15 October – When yours is the third car in performance terms, the third row is the most logical outcome to expect. Qualifying in the Korean Grand Prix did not deliver any exception to this rule and the two 150º Italias will start from fifth and sixth places on the grid, with Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso respectively. A great performance from Felipe who, for the second consecutive weekend, managed to outpace his team-mate. Tomorrow’s race will be rendered all the more uncertain because the teams have little information on tyre degradation, one more element to liven up this Grand Prix.
