Former BTCC driver Jeff Allam will return in his role as ‘Driving Standards Advisor’ for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship from the series’ next round at Oulton Park (5 June) onwards.
Allam, who won 16 races during his BTCC career, will be at each event to assist and advise the Clerk of the Course when investigating on-track incidents. He previously carried out the same advisory role with the BTCC in the mid-late Nineties.
“I’m delighted that Jeff has again accepted my offer of this role,” said BTCC Series Director Alan Gow. “The amount of very competitive teams and drivers in our championship is fabulous but inevitably can lead to an increased workload, particularly with matters concerning on-track incidents.
“Therefore Jeff’s highly regarded input will not only bring a respected driver’s perspective to the table, but also help us to provide a more efficient decision-making process at the event.”
