Carlos Huertas and Felipe Nasr continued their class-leading performances in testing for the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series today at Silverstone, the South American Carlin team-mates running well ahead of the pack on the first day of a two-day session at the British Grand Prix circuit.
Brazilian Nasr – quickest in testing last week at Rockingham – had to cede top spot today to his Colombian rival, the two separated by just one-hundredth of a second at the head of the times.
Carlin drivers filled the top five places, with Hitech’s Pietro Fantin placing sixth. The leading Mercedes-powered runners were Double R Racing’s twosome, Pipo Derani and Scott Pye, ninth and 10th respectively.
