AT&T Williams to run 2010 GP2 Series Champion at Young Driver test

AT&TWilliams Formula One team have announced today that 2010 GP2 Series Champion Pastor Maldonado will be joining next month’s post-season Young Drivers’ test session in Abu Dhabi.

The British team is looking towards the 2011 season and the Venezuelan could be a possible candidate for one of their seats. This announcement follows the great news about Sergio Perez already been signed at Sauber for next Formula One season although the 2010 GP2 Series season is still going and will conclude next month in Abu Dhabi.

Almost half of this season’s F1 grid is made of GP2 graduates and between Perez’s locking a seat early and Maldonado’s great opportunity to prove his worth at the wheel of such a prestigious car, the GP2 Series further establishes itself as Formula One’s strongest feeder series.
